Just how did Portland come to be the specially odd place it is? I spent the weekend roaming the streets of downtown Portland with friends, tasting, shopping, feeling the relaxing parts of the city. It’s always pleasantly surprising to me to see the immaculate sense of design that fills every corner of this quaint yet contemporary city. Every street corner you can find some sort of a designer-esque business or shop — zen spas, edgy salons, unique boutiques.. Everything is branded fresh, clean, modern. It’s the kind of place you feel like if you showed up to a coffee shop with a PC you’d be number one loser. Good thing I got my Mac Book! So with all that I’d imagine I’m back in San Francisco with an equally urban community but no — It’s all Grunge and Granola!
My find of the weekend — an uber luxe cropped Michelle Mason jacket found at super sleek shop called Moule (located at 1225 N.W. Everett St., 503-227-8530). The best thing? It was on sale! I’ll post a pic of it as soon as I figure out my camera situation. Here’s a pic of the same jacket in cream below. Mine is in a muted stone-blue — blue btw is really catching my attention these days..

What I like about Michelle Mason’s style is the subtleties and muted tones. Kind of refreshing and relaxing.
Here are some more chic pieces from Mason I found online…

Last call.. if you ever find yourself in Portland with some free time, stop by Sip & Kranz — my new all time favorite coffee shop. I had my usual iced espresso w/half & half and 1 equal but was shocked to find how much better these beans tasted than anything I’d had before — even Peets. They’re Stump Town beans btw.
Thank you Gracey and Mikey for hosting us through such a great relaxing weekend. Give Baby K a big scream for me!
