The Luxe Mix

I knew Rock and Republic was forging new territory after tasting sweet success in the denim department but this was the first of their handbags I’ve seen. It’s been interesting watching so many small design houses blow up after hitting it big within a niche market. The power of strong branding. Like Juicy with it’s little track suits. Who would have thought? Just wait cuz Luxemix is going to come out with her own little secret weapon. mwahah.

Back to these bags.. I like ‘em but that’s just a little arrogant of Rock and Republic to charge that much for their bags. That’s as much as some of the better quality luxury handbag labels. Who knows what this quality is like? I’d most certainly have to see the bag in person before giving this a thumbs up. They are cute though and would look good with some R&R denim. And I’m not even a hobo girl!

Not literally… duh.. just tied up at work. Sorry I’ve been MIA. I really try my best to post at LEAST twice a week in case you haven’t noticed But lately work has been just irrationally busy. I feel like I have given up my life to my new job. I wish I could just laze the days away surfing the web for more luxe stuff haha wouldn’t that be the life?? but.. I also have to make the cheese in order to spend the cheese!!!

I’m a bit surprised by the result of the What’s Your Shoe Shape Poll.. are you? I really thought the narrow one would win. I have some theories though… first off I’ll come out and tell you which one is my fav — it’s the narrow BUT to tell you the truth I actually end up buying the rounded shape most! I’m wondering if most of you chose based on what shape you think looks best or based on which one you buy/wear the most. Obviously, the rounded shape is most comfortable to our feet. Pointy is really pain, little gain. I’m so glad the pointy shape for boots at least is not IN these days. Maybe women just finally kicked back and said HELL IF I WEAR THOSE ON MY NEWLY PEDICURED TOES!!

Christian Louboutin Suede Ankle Boots — we can all dream. I’d never buy these really bc suede lasts about one season for me. I’m just not graceful enough to take care of these.

Frye Multi Strap Boot — I own a pair of Fryes and the craftsmanship is flawless.

Boutique 59 Holler Boot

Steve Madden Paddington Boot — these look so comfy, ready to throw on over anything in the cold weather. Love the removable cuff touch — ingenious.

So this is yet another random obsessive thought from an obsessive Virgo.. but I’m wondering what the majority of girls out there prefer when it comes to shoe shape. And I’m not talking about just any part of the shoe — I mean the front toe area.. when you’re looking straight down at your shoe that part of the shoe that juts out. This area is the part of your shoe that you’ve got to really like because you see it ALL the time. I mean, everyone gets to see the hot heels and the lovely profiles of your Manolos and Choos but all your really get to see is this nice little stump, other than of course when you are growling at yourself out in the mirror.

I’m rather particular about the front part of my shoes. Hmm, what is this part of the shoe called anyway? Need a name… how about Shoe Cap? Toe Stump?  If any of you know what this part of the shoe is really called please do indulge me. [AHA! I found it.. I think it's called the Toe Cap. Check it out: http://www.chass.utoronto.ca/~ebernhar/shoevoc.html]. Well at least that’s the closest I could find.

I have to share this video with you guys! Not bc I like the video all that much — it’s actually pretty boring and why the hell didn’t they put the band in it?? but I just love love love the song so much. I’ve been listening to it non-stop and not sick of it –just yet. When you fall in love with a song do you just play it over and over until you get sick of it like me? I used to savor songs and not let myself overplay them, like savoring or should i say hoarding my favorite candy when I was young, but one day I just said ***Forget it! Indulge yourself girl*** I play a song over and over until I’m spent and can’t listen to it anymore. Sick i know.

I’m melted by Ryan Tedder’s (lead singer) voice. I’m going to have to do some research on him.

I just came upon these interestingly different shoes at Steve Madden. I’m always looking for stuff that has a unique edge that sets it apart from all the standard styles the fashion industry is overflowing with. I was surprised to find these on www.stevemadden.com of all places! What do you guys think??

Ok so maybe these rainbow brite glitter ones are a bit out there but fashion’s got to be fun too right?

We know Target is the spot when it comes to Luxe for Less, and thanks to Slave to Target, I found out Alice Temperley is now available at Target! I can’t wait to see how this line turns out.. I’ve always been a bit disappointed with the lack of inventory when these luxury designers come to Target. Who has time to storm Target on opening day for these new lines? Not me! According to a lot of the reviews it looks like the quality of the cuts and fabrics are hit or miss on some of her items. Read the reviews carefully ladies.
