Zidane Peep Toe Heel From Tashkent by Cheyenne

Tashkent1_2

Is it a heel? Is it a boot? Not sure myself but it’s called the Zindane Peep Toe Heel from Tashkent by Cheyenne.

Shoe shapes have stuck to the standard for how long? Pumps, Ankle Boots, Knee High Boots, Ballerina Flats… There have been some variations over the decades but really its been status quo. On the other hand, this new shoe from Tashkent by Cheyenne introduces such a refreshing silhouette, it just feels like an entirely new shoe! It’s a peep toe, yet a short boot, with a touch of gladiator sandal. They look like they could take you from the non-rainy Winter days all the way through late Fall. I’d slip these on with a mini skirt, shorts, or even tuck some skinny pants under them. Either way the detailing on these are too hot to be concealed!

Shibue Strapless G-String: Never Go Commando Again

Shibue_darkchocolate_2
I thought Victoria had mastered the art of seamless but hello the search for a panty-line-less look is now officially over. Daily Candy broke the news today… women can now rest assured their thong-tha-thong won’t be hanging out over their jeans (unless strategically planned that way) because here comes a truly strapless g-string from Shibue. Apparently these stick-on undies are reusable. Just wash ‘em and re-apply with new adhesive. But ranging from $32-$34 they’re on the I’ll Have to Think About That price range… I mean on closer examination I could recreate these with my existing underwear and some sharp scissors. Just add some of my scrapbook adhesive and… voila!

Well if any of you go out and try these do share your feedback!

The Before and After photos are pretty compelling.

Nancy Gonazalez Snake Glitter Clutch

If I weren’t so lazy I’d have bought this clutch by now. I mean lazy as in I can’t imagine actually carrying this bag in my hand or under my arm all night. How do girls do it? I’ve been trying to psych myself into buying a clutch all winter long. I’ve kaboodled at least 50 clutches by now. Is the Snake Glitter Clutch by Nancy Gonzalez going to tip me over the edge? Uhhh maybe if it didn’t cost as much as 2 plasma screen TVs or 3 Blue Ray DVD players (Husband…).

Guess I can just enjoy the view from my seat here… I love the new profile this clutch offers. It’s longer than it is wide, which actually looks more comfortable to carry under the arm. The space between your arm and your rib cage seems to be better complemented by this shape than the traditional wide and short shape of the traditional clutch. It also looks like I could fit more than the usual bare necessities which is quite comforting since I’m a pack rack on a daily basis.

After staring at it now for a good hour I’m thinking it may be a tinge on the simple side.. but certainly couldn’t hurt to have in my closet!

Envirosax Reusable Shopping Bags: Go Green In Style!

Im_not_a_plastic_bag_anya_hindmarch
I start to sweat while in line at the grocery store debating over what to say when they as me — paper or plastic? I so badly want to say "No thanks! I have an eco-friendly organic-of-course shopping bag!". The fact that I could never hope to get my hands on the Anya Hindmarch I’m Not a Plastic Bag Reusable Shopping Bag, I’ve been searching around for the most stylish bag to buy because the better the bag looks the more motivated I’ll be to whip it out when I run into the market.

So far these adorable bags from Envirosax are the best looking bags I could find. I’d feel good (environmentally good and looking good!) about toting these around.

Envirosax Shopping Bags

At $8.50 each these are a steal!

They come in so many colors and designs you’re sure to find a design for your tastes.

They even have these handy pouches to hold a set of bags for those major shopping trips.

Other options

While searching for other cute bags I came upon these non woven eco bags in the UK. It doesn’t seem they are selling them yet. They look pretty cute though!

Stylagio ClipChic Handbag Hook/Holder

About a year ago I blogged about a handbag hook I’d had my eye on. At $35 a pop the Luxe Link Purse Holder seemed like a fair enough deal… or at least I was so enticed by the novelty of the design of this compact style handbag hook that I bought one for my sister in law and one of my best friends (wasn’t ready to spend the $35 on this indulgence just yet).

Then, Anne from Stylagio, sent me this really cute plum colored handbag hook to review on The Luxe Mix. Yes I was excited and extremely flattered someone actually thought I could help promote/review their product but I was even more excited I wasn’t going to have to shell out the $35 for the Luxe Link Holder. I could get used to this :)

Picture_4_2After having used the Stylagio ChicClip (shown on the right) for a month now I will say that it does come in handy when you’re dining out and the seating arrangement does not accommodate our oversized handbags. Actually, any size bag will eventually find itself sitting on the dingy ground every once in awhile. The places I hate most are the ones with the chairs with the round curved backs. When will restaurants realize they need to start treating our bags like the paying customers they are? No bag, no wallet, no cash!

Does anyone out there have any good ideas of what to do with your hand bag when it can’t be hung on the back of your chair? If so please share! Usually I end up stuffing it behind my back where it gets squashed or I place it on my lab like a baby (dropping crumbs all over it).

I found the ChicClip quite handy — when I remembered to bring it with me. I switch purses nearly every day so some days I’d forget I’d stashed it in a pocket of a bag. If I could find a way to attach the clip to some other item I always carry that would be perfect! Hmmm I’ll have to think about that..

Here’s a few pics I took of my ChicClip in action.

Overall I’m very happy with my ChicClip. At $19.95 it’s a great Luxe for Less option and not quite as an investment as other purse hooks.

The Highs

  • $19.95. It costs less than a pedicure!
  • Seems pretty durable. I’ve dropped it several times and it’s stayed in tact.
  • Comes in a wide assortment of colors (10 to be exact). The next color on my list is the black one!
  • The material of the Clip grabs well on most surfaces. I’ve even hung it on the back of chairs! This comes in handy when the table or desk surface is too thick to fit the hook on.
  • Super compact. About the size of a 1/2 dollar.
  • Comes with a little velvet pouch to keep it safe from scratches.
  • MOST IMPORTANTLY my handbags are so much happier, healthier, and well cared for. If I’m gonna spend insane amounts of money on these babies I might as pamper them too! What’s next?… Organic handbag cleanser?

The Lows

  • I’d like it if these purse hooks could be a little lighter. With all the crap you gotta tote around any extra weight sucks. Do you agree??

Anne’s kindly given my readers a 20% discount so if you’ve been thinking about getting a handbag hook  you might as well take this opportunity to get one, or a few for you and your fabulous friends!

Who's the Luxe Mix?

I wouldn't qualify myself as anything official when it comes to fashion but I might officially qualify as a shopaholic. To keep from going broke I have learned to mix the luxe with the less, the cheap with the chic. I'm a technology junkie in addition to being hopelessly fashion obsessed so while I am a corporate UX designer by day, by night I am an obsessively compulsively working up visions of a splendid online fashion retail nirvana.
