ColorOn EyeEnvy Mineral Cream Eyeshadow Appliqués

Talk about insta-makeup!! This is the clorox bleach pen for eyeshadow. It took me several blinks to really believe this but yes they now have instant application for your eye makeup. Have no choice but to try this out one day to see if it really works. I have a feeling I’m going to look awfully scary.. how could it actually work??

There’s several kits to choose from… from more simple color combination to some serious Nat Geo designs. Rrrrrowr!

Pour La Victoire Larke Shield Flat Sandals

With my legs starting to cramp up (due to baby bump weight), I’ve been on the look out for some flats. At first glance these looked a little mean and menacing but they started to sink in and now have grown on me. Hoping they’ll look good with leggings — which I wear only about 90% of the time these days. I just ordered them over the weekend so let’s see how they pan out once I open that box. It’s exciting receiving goods in the mail… but can also be so disappointing. Keeping fingers (and calves!) crossed…

Vogue TV: Disappointing but Promising

Video is a huge part of my life due to the work I do. So when I was tipped off by BagSnobs that VogueTV had launched I was like wow! Video and Fashion.. are they really coming together? So far any attempts at merging fashion and video technology, or even fashion and TV to say the least has been nyeeehOf course other than Project Runway.

After watching one video clip on VogueTV I wasn’t blown away.. but I did sit through the entire video. That’s statistically impressive — who actually watches whole videos on the Internet? The Bagsnobs mentioned there was some way of shopping for the items in the video so I was on the look out for that. I’m a sucker for any kind of shopping/technology twist… but I was sadly disappointed with how they implemented this feature. They could have revolutionized the fashion world with this! I was envisioning floating “buy” buttons.. drag and drop shopping carts..  virtual fashion reality!!! This was more like YouTube dressed in Express clothing. booo..

At least it’s a good sign that the Fashion world is dabbling in video and technology. Hopefully one day we will have the high-tech fashion experience where you can try on that D&G leopard jumpsuit comfortably from your leather chaise at home and click a button to have it shipped out overnight priority, sans the credit card check-out process.

Check VogueTV out girls.. let me know what you think. Am I being harsh?

Stylish and Fashionable Maternity Clothing

is hard to find. It comes down to two things. It’s relatively difficult to dress up a big round tubby thing (and make it look hot).. and girls only wear the stuff for a few months at most so we just don’t make enough money for the majority of designers to throw us a bone. I can safely say I’m in the smack dab middle of my maternity fashion rut. They say you get the baby blues after giving birth but I’m pretty blue these days inspecting my “look” in the morning every day as I get ready. It wasn’t so hard the first 4-5 months.. it was actually a fun and experimental time for me. Mixing and matching stuff in my closet to achieve new looks that covered up my growing nub. Each day though as my belly expands (it exploded into a volleyball sized mound btw in the last 3 weeks!) it gets increasingly challenging. I think the time has come for me to shop maternity. Yes.. I’m going to break down and actually buy stuff that was made for pregnant ladies. I tried to hold off as long as possible but I’m glad I did some research previously to be prepared for this day. Check out my post at Factoidz.com on “Where to Shop for Fashionable and Stylish Maternity Clothing“.

So while I’ve managed to still look like myself for the most part these past 5 months… it’s getting harder and harder. Talk about hanging onto to every last thread of my pre-maternity clothing! Here’s one look I put together recently (while on my baby-moon in Mexico) that I felt good in. The key here was leggings (never can have enough of these when you’re pregnant).. a really loose top from Bebe I’d bought for a trip to Hawaii couple years back and my trusty black cardigan. I felt so comfy in this outfit I promised myself to go out and find 10 tops like this. If anyone has good maternity shopping tips or links please do share!

Marc Jacobs Ruffled Hillary Dome Bag

There’s an elegance to this bag that I haven’t seen in many many ages and seasons of bags. It seems to have gotten it’s cue from the Prada Nappa, but I’m more into how the ruffles fall on this bag. The tassles add a cute but not too cute accent. If I were just a little more grown-up (just not ready to accept true woman hood yet!) I’d beg my husband for this lovely.

L.A.M.B. Tizzy Strappy Sandal Bootie

Oh and these too.

I get the inkling these won’t be so comfy after a long strut down the road but they look damn good. Maybe the excrutiating pain these will put me in will add a sexy torutured look to my eyes.

There’s a feeling deep inside my gut.. that these must be mine soon.

Featured Site: YesStyle.com

I’ve been lurking on a site for the past year called YesStyle.com. If you can get past the fobbilicious name there may be some sweet finds on the site for you. Prices are very reasonable — within a Forever21 to BCBG price range. I’ll admit you’ll need to pore through the pages (and be amused by some of the ridiculous styles like hoodies with pom-pom ties or oversize sweaters with bunny rabbits), but some of the clothing and handbags in particular are definitely worth a peek or two.

Warning, do not enter the jewelry section. That’s the most criminal area of the whole site. If you do.. enter at your own risk and don’t think that all Koreans wear that stuff.

Mommy Mix

I’m 5 months pregnant. It took me awhile to get around to finally announcing it here.. it takes time to make the rounds. I had to get in touch with friends who might (not highly likely but might) be actually reading my blog to tell them first. I’m actually in Cancun with my hubb right now for our “baby-moon”. It’s amazing how little you can actually do while you’re pregnant. My most favorite activity at the moment is savoring ice cream. That is the highlight of my days here in Mexico (and no it’s not even local Mexican ice cream — it’s Haagen Daaz). So it’s a baby girl that we’re expecting and she’s due the first week of July. This means she’ll be a Cancer and a Bull in Chinese Astrology. That’s a very good combo for my husband and I. I’m a Virgo-Snake, he’s an Aries-Bull. No name yet. We were close to one and then his Father now doesn’t like it due to it’s biblical meanings. Haven’t totally deserted it yet though but will let you know. Everyone’s got an opinion.. I don’t anticipate my blog to become overrun with baby stuff (at least hopefully not). Someone please tie me up and lock me in a McDonald’s Playhouse with crying babies if I do. I need to retain something of my own! Save some last thread of my own identity!! Won’t that be funny come 5 months down the line and I can’t stop talking baby stuff? Will I end up only shopping for baby clothes and accessories? If I do, I apologize in advance.. sorry sorry sorry.

Who's the Luxe Mix?

I wouldn't qualify myself as anything official when it comes to fashion but I might officially qualify as a shopaholic. To keep from going broke I have learned to mix the luxe with the less, the cheap with the chic. I'm a technology junkie in addition to being hopelessly fashion obsessed so while I am a corporate UX designer by day, by night I am an obsessively compulsively working up visions of a splendid online fashion retail nirvana. Contact me if you want my input on how to transform your fashion house into a mass-tech-revolutionized business.
