Hey Janice! Thanks for visiting. One question for you on the Envirosax.. do they have square bottom surface? You know how paper bags have square surface of the bottom? Are these like that or do they end with the two sides just stitched together? They look like of flat in structure.

I agree on the cheap bags - you're really not helping the environment much if you pay $2 for a "reusable" bag that doesn't last more than a month's worth of shopping trips - the difference in cost between a high quality bag (like the Envirosax or Flip and Tumble) is about $5 per bag - just go for it and know your bag will last for years of use.

I bought a set of the Envirosax Mikado style and just LOVE them - that's the key - if you really like the bags, you'll take them with you everywhere and actually use them instead of buying them with good intentions and letting them sit in your drawer not getting used. Got mine with free shipping for $35 for the set of 5 bags - (http://www.brightandbold.com/enmiba.html) so at $7 per bag, I know they'll last a long time, and I'm happy I paid the extra couple bucks for something I love. You won't regret it...

There's a great new bag coming out and I like what the designer says about buying the cheap reusable bags, they don't last so they are still polluting the earth. If you are going to buy reusable it's a better eco deal to buy something you not only love using but that will last through washing and wearing.
The designer also hosts fund raisers and donates a portion of profits to charities including Operation Homefront. The bags are going on sale April 23rd I think. http://www.useitagainsam.com/ The Sam Bag looks really hip, fashionable. Using a resuable bag gives you the chance to make a difference every single day and this bag makes it easy and really fun.

Well, I have a sewing machine that I have yet to test, and we could easily "screen print" using cut-outs with transparency sheets (i've done it with a t-shirt and it works really well), so... yeah! I'm up for it. Would love to have a crafts day~

p.s. and in the meantime, all of these eco-friendly bags keep popping up. http://www.id-adesigns.com/products.html (I like the bird one) and http://www.flipandtumble.com/how.html (not stylish, just fun how they squish it up)

The non-woven bags are pretty... disposable-feeling (they're the type of bags that you get for free at trade shows. I keep some stuffed in T's trunk and use them for impromptu grocery runs, but would want something more fabric-y and less crease/wrinkle-prone for long-term use). But the Envirosax bags are adorable!!! I'll have to order some. :D
