Can blogs have a mid life crisis? Well I believe I’m in the middle of one.. so bear with me guys! I’m having a harder time deciding what to write about.. sometimes I question whether I should even be blogging at all. Other times I ask myself whether I should blog about something else.. like my whacked out theories about people, love and relationships, or even stuff more related to my work. OMG please don’t Jenni. For those of you who blog you know how time consuming this can all be. I’m sure several of you struggle with this love/hate relationship with your internet addiction and blogging. Right??
Blogging can be lonely at times. Actually most the time.. it’s like talking to yourself. The closest I get to interaction with anyone here is when I check my stats. Yeah!! But really, I just want to get to know you guys a little better. I want to know what is on your minds too, especially when it comes to fashion trends, style advice, Forever21 guilty pleasures, YSL bags!! And seriously everything else would be nice too.. what kind of music you like, what you guys do for a living, where you all live, who pissed you off today and why, what you want to make of yourselves one day. What’s ironic about the fact that I even have a blog is that I actually thrive off of learning more about other people. Maybe that’s the root of this blog crisis.
Well.. I’m going to have to do a couple things here so if you want just try and hang in there with me. I’m prob. have more irregular posts and also do more polls and quizzes in order to get a dialog going. I hope that we’ll all learn more about each other through this and I’ll find my answer at the end of the road.
I’ll leave you with a random photo of the day. This is my favorite drink in the world. Literally. An iced double shot vanilla espresso from Korea. See! I AM having a crisis.

Coming out of lurk mode to say I love your blog! I love seeing the bargains, and all the other fun fashiony things that I could never afford (I have three kids… enough said!)
So please, keep it up!
Hello! I love reading about fashion and purses. I love the high end looks and bargain deals from cheapie places like F21 etc. Thank drink looks delish
You guys are awesome! Thanks for taking the time to speak out and let me know you’re out there!! I guess it sounds like people like to know about the affordable stuff and UNaffordable
… like I do!
I’ll keeo that in mind for future posts!
a few things:
- i love love, and will always love this blog and will feel fortunate if you continue it for whatever amount of time.
- latest obsessions are casual dresses, any kind of moisturizer, and this amazing inexpensive clothing shop in burlingame california called elie
- a suggestion: post up a picture of what you’re wearing everyday. everytime i see you, you look incredible, right down to every accessory. i always think of you and your blog when i’m shopping online or just taking some extra time dressing before leaving my castle. and would find your daily ensembles both helpful and inspiring.
that’s it for now. i saw the flashing red beacon asking for help, and since i hardly ever get to see my luxe-y often, i thought i’d drop a line to say ‘hi.’
xoxo,
mayor
I know that “am I talking to anyone? Where is this going?” feeling! That’s one advantage of blog communities that allow strings of conversations (and the ability to set levels of privacy, so you have “females-only” for those intimate topics and needs, etc.).
Posts like this are great for getting to know your audience. Also, having audience members share visuals can be fun! I have to shirk my visual-sharing duties for now (I’ll make it up later!) ’cause I don’t have it with me right now, but I just finished making an asymmetric silver necklace with grey-blue pearls and blue and clear AB (aurora borealis – to give that iridescent finish) crystals. Can’t wait for spring weather, when I intend to pair it with a dark brown tube top!
Hello Mayor and LL! You guys are my best support line! I’ll keep this going just because I know you guys are there
I’ll have to check out the blog communities you mentioned. Never even knew..
Mayor — when will you run for President? I think this country needs you!
yay!!! I’ll always be a loyal follower.
my blog “home” is Livejournal. You’ve prob seen me reference stuff there. All the public can see are my public posts (like flickr public photos), but for those with LJ accounts, you can friend them and make friends-only posts. Or you can create your own groups like “real life friends” for ppl you want to organize group events with or “shoe talk” for people who love shoes or even just have lists of one person, so you can have a private conversation. Very flexible. And the comments are done thread-version, so you can see the logical progression of conversations, and people can join in very easily. (like here’s an example I randomly grabbed that combines conversation threads, photos, etc. – http://community.livejournal.com/asian_beauty/3591374.html)
Oh, and for my most recent find, I just fell in love with this simple halter jumpsuit at VS (http://www2.victoriassecret.com/commerce/application/Sale/?namespace=productDisplay&origin=onlineProductDisplay.jsp&event=display&prnbr=8T-210236&cgname=OSPVTSALZZZ&&rfnbr=3678&size=XS%20(0-2)&dispMode=STANDARD&palette=&count_0=2). Besides being on clearance, it has a 40% discount with code “ITEM40″. Yum. Couldn’t pass it up! Think it would be great with these light gold Chinese Laundry sandals I just found and a belt/scarf across the waist.
Mayor, I don’t know if I’ve ever met you at any of Jenni’s get-togethers, but you’ve single-handedly given THE best shopping rec ever!!! I looked up Elie online, saw this notice for a shopping event at a San Carlos winery (unlikely though that sounds) tonight, and decided to check it out. The venue and set-up was cute and cosy and a lot of fun to wander through, but… the best part was seeing the stuff at Elie! All the styles were so cute, unique, comfortable, stylish, affordable… I thought maybe, just maybe I’d find something I liked, and ended up with three things! This uber-comfy organic cotton tunic that someone said was so well fitted to me that it looked like couture (what a compliment, of course I was biased by that), a cute babydoll white dress (so much more feminine and cute than the other spring dress offerings I’ve seen so far), and these drapey dary grey pants with a wide panel wrapping across the hips – again, decadent in its comfort. I’m a fan of Elie now!! Thank you, mayor!!
Aww, I can’t post an image (no HTML allowed in comments, it looks like), so I’ll have to post a link. Crappy pic of beforementioned necklace, since I wore it to work today.

Nice work LL! That necklace looks pretty advanced. You got some serious necklace crafting skillz!
BTW the link to your livejournal didn’t work so I’m re-posting it here in case anyone tries:

And what is this about Elie Online?? I think I missed something
Catching up after my trip… so many cute posts with photos!!!
You sport the short jacket SO well. I love the styles, but on me, they look like I shrunk them in the dryer or something. And instead of accenting my torso, they accent my butt.
(which I swear is getting *larger* from kickboxing, annoyingly enough) I do like the short-short sweaters that basically wrap around your boobs, though.
About Elie, I noticed they have a website, and on that website is an Event page – http://www.elieboutique.com/index.php?act=viewDoc&docId=5 – they haven’t updated it since the winery event that I went to.
