This fall season feels like The Handbag Depression. Have all the handbag designers fallen asleep at the wheel? I’ve never been so unenthusiastic about the handbag lineup. It seems all the styles have merged and submerged and the creativity that seemed so abundant these past years has dried up. Well, I suppose this is a good thing for me so I’m not tempted to actually buy one! I will say however that YSL continues to have a stronghold on me and I’m not terribly disappointed with their new sister of the Downtown Bag — the Uptown Bag. It’s structured shape would be a refreshing change the slouchiness of the Downtown, and perfect for the colder weather approaching. If (IF) I were to pick one of these up I’d go for the classic black. The colors shown above seem subtle but with a bag that seems like it’d survive a shipwreck I’d opt for a trendless color since I’d hope to pass it along to my little girl one day 🙂
