I have a rule about a piece like this: if it can’t do three jobs, it doesn’t come home.
This blue striped Rebecca Taylor Priya Poplin Shirt Dress earns it. Half off on Nordstrom — $395 down to $197.50, which works out to $66 per outfit slot once you map it across three days. Same dress, three completely different looks.
Here’s how it actually moves:
1. School run. White sneakers, a tan tote that holds a juice box and my dignity, sleeves pushed, gold studs. Out the door in four minutes.
2. Lunch that became errands that became pickup. A thin belt over the drawstring to actually define the waist, tan flat sandals, a small crossbody. The belt is the whole trick — it takes the dress from “fine” to “intentional.”
3. Dinner. A strappy nude heel, a structured little bag, one good gold piece, hair down, the tie knotted clean instead of bowed. Same dress. Different woman.
The point was never the dress. It’s the eye — knowing which three swaps move a look from thrown-on to put-together. That’s the whole game.
Want that eye on your own closet?
I’m running a handful of Mini Style Audits. Email me at jenni@luxemix.com with subject AUDIT — send three of your current outfits, I’ll send back what’s working, what to fix, and one formula you can repeat.
