What I Lost and Found in Carmel

A few months ago, I packed up my four daughters and drove to Carmel for a weekend. It was the first real trip I’d taken as a single mom. No plan was perfect. Nothing went exactly the way I imagined. And it turned out to be one of the most important weekends of my life.

Over the next four posts, I’m sharing what that trip taught me — about staying calm under pressure, letting go of the perfect plan, and what it actually means to show up as enough for your kids. This is the beginning of my story, and the beginning of what I hope to build here on Luxemix. Not just stories about divorce, but everything I’ve learned along the way — through 20 years of marriage, through motherhood, through the hard decisions that no one really prepares you for. My hope is that something in these stories might offer a little insight or comfort to other women as they navigate their own versions of it all. This is the messy, beautiful middle of rebuilding — and I’m glad you’re here for it.
